On the topic of comfort foods, the lack of seafood in the dining hall (tuna fish salad does not count) has made me realize how much I really enjoy a good piece of steamed fish or fried soft shell crab. I know that seafood is a bit controversial in the mainstream food world and many have an aversion to it. However, there is something about the fresh, almost ocean-like taste that I absolutely adore. It brings me back to when I was younger. When my mum steamed sea bass with ginger and soy sauce and it would be the only thing I ate that whole day. In my opinion, seafood is truly under appreciated.
